Comedian Lee Su-ji has won the Best Female Entertainer award at the Baeksang Arts Awards for the second consecutive year!
During the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards held on the 8th at COEX D Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Lee Su-ji took home the trophy, beating out strong nominees including Jang Do-yeon, Hong Jin-kyung, Kim Yeon-kyung, and Seol In-ah.
Whether it is Coupang Play’s ‘SNL Korea’, YouTube’s ‘Hot Issue-ji’, or SBS’s ‘Ani Geunde Jinjja’, Lee Su-ji has been killing it across various platforms and genres. By winning the award for the best female entertainer for two years straight, she has officially ushered in “The Era of Lee Su-ji.”
Lee Su-ji shared her love for her colleagues, saying, “I love the ‘SNL Korea’ family so much.” She opened up about her struggles, stating, “I’ve always lived thinking I’m not a special person, but someone who does a specialized job. However, there were times when I felt broken, exhausted, and pressured. During those times, senior Shin Dong-yup told me that if I work with warmth in my heart, I’ll be able to achieve great things.”
She also gave a shout-out to her writers and PDs, jokingly clarifying, “People say it’s all ad-libbing on ‘Hot Issue-ji’, but it’s actually all in the script!” Vowing to highlight those who work silently in society, she ended her speech on a touching note: “Today is Parents’ Day, and my father-in-law is very ill. I hope he can smile while watching this. Thank you to my mom for giving me the talent to roll around like a bear. I’ll work hard to make you laugh!”
