Filming has just begun, and the hype is already real! The Disney+ original series ‘Moving Season 2’ has raised expectations by revealing its glamorous casting lineup.
On the 18th, Disney+ announced the cast lineup and the official start of filming for ‘Moving Season 2’. Season 2 will follow superpowered individuals who returned to their ordinary lives after the ‘Jeongwon High incident’ as they reunite once more to protect their loved ones from another threat.
The previous season, released in 2023, is considered one of the most successful Disney+ Korean original contents. It earned praise from viewers worldwide for its story of children hiding their superpowers and parents with secrets of the past facing a massive threat together.
Its success wasn’t just about a high budget or a star-studded cast. It was lauded for its solid narrative, sensory directing, and the intense performances of the actors. Following its release, Disney+ saw an increase of about 140,000 new subscribers, ranked first in overall OTT buzz, and the production company NEW saw a rise in its stock price. Carol Choi, Head of Original Content Strategy for Asia-Pacific at The Walt Disney Company, also noted that ‘Moving’ drew a global response that was stronger than expected.
The series also made a huge impact at award ceremonies. At the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards, ‘Moving’ won the Grand Prize in the TV category, writer Kang Full won the Best Screenplay award, and Lee Jung-ha won the Best New Actor award. At the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards, the series took home the Grand Prize, while Go Youn-jung and Lee Jung-ha won Best New Actress and Best New Actor, respectively.

Thanks to its massive popularity, the production of Season 2 was confirmed early on. Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, Jo In-sung, Cha Tae-hyun, Go Youn-jung, Kim Do-hoon, Kim Sung-kyun, Shim Dal-gi, Moon Sung-keun, Kim Jong-soo, Park Byung-eun, Kim Shin-rok, Lee Ho-jung, Park Kwang-jae, Kim Guk-hee, Kim Hee-won, Shin Jae-hwi, and Park Han-sol are all teaming up again to continue the world of Season 1.
The addition of new faces is also drawing attention. New characters are joining the fray, with Ryu Hye-young, Noh Yoon-seo, Kim Gun-woo, and Choi Yoon-ji added to the cast.
There is also a change in characters. The role of Kim Bong-seok, played by Lee Jung-ha in Season 1, will now be played by rookie Won Kyu-bin due to Lee Jung-ha’s military enlistment. Won Kyu-bin, who debuted last year in ‘Cheongdam International High School 2’, has the honor of joining a massive project just one year after debuting. All eyes are on how he will hold his own among such experienced senior actors.
In an era where famous actors and huge budgets alone cannot guarantee a hit, it is ultimately the solid storytelling, directing, and convincing acting that move the audience. ‘Moving’ stayed true to this and proved the competitiveness of K-content in the global market. Expectations are high to see if Season 2 can follow in the footsteps of its predecessor and achieve meaningful results once again.
