Yoo Yeon-jung, a former member of I.O.I, shared a funny story about her agency from back when she appeared on Mnet’s ‘Produce 101’.
On the 18th, the channel ‘Jjanhan Hyung’ uploaded a video titled “I.O.I Jeon Somi, Choi Yoo-jung, Chungha, Yoo Yeon-jung. Jjanhan Hyung EP.145 Suddenly High Energy Girls.”
In the clip, I.O.I members Jeon Somi, Choi Yoo-jung, Chungha, and Yoo Yeon-jung reunited after a long time to look back on their journey. As a reminder, I.O.I was the project group formed from the final members selected through Mnet’s girl group survival audition program ‘Produce 101’.
Yoo Yeon-jung expressed her love for ‘Produce 101’, catching everyone’s attention by saying, “I want to go back!” Jeon Somi and Choi Yoo-jung laughed and agreed, saying they’d love to do it again too.
Yoo Yeon-jung admitted, “I went in completely raw. I think I could do a bit better if I went back now,” expressing some regret. She then shared a hilarious revelation: “Back then, it was before I debuted with WJSN. Since I was a member who didn’t make the debut cut, the company didn’t give me a single Botox shot and just sent me out!” The confession left everyone in stitches.
‘Produce 101’ featured 101 female trainees from around 50 agencies competing for a spot in a new 11-member group decided by fan votes.
I.O.I, who debuted through the show, recently announced they are releasing a new album after nine years to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Their latest title track, “Suddenly,” is a synth-pop song that delicately captures the sudden rush of longing and memories. With Jeon Somi participating in the lyrics, fans are already buzzing with anticipation.
