TWS claimed the top spot on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on the afternoon of May 10 with their title track “You, You” from the 5th mini album ‘NO TRAGEDY’. This marks their second music show win since their comeback, following their victory on KBS2 ‘Music Bank’ on May 8.
Taking the stage, TWS shared, “We prepared this album with such earnest hearts, and it seems that sincerity reached everyone to bring these great results,” while sending love to their fandom ’42’. The win felt even more special since member Shinyu is currently an MC for the program, with the group adding, “It’s even more meaningful to take first place on a show hosted by Shinyu hyung.”
During the encore stage, TWS showcased their sweet live vocals. They interacted with fans by performing a “train play” performance, which they had promised if they won first place. Starting with Jihoon, the members held each other’s shoulders and moved across the stage during the ‘Dda-rum’ part, creating a festival-like atmosphere as fans sang along loudly.
The 5th mini album ‘NO TRAGEDY’ captures TWS’s own romance narrative of charging straight toward love without giving in to fate. The group has also seen explosive growth in numbers, surpassing 1 million copies sold in just four days to earn the ‘million-seller’ title. They set a new career high with first-week sales of 1,112,770 copies.
The international response is just as hot! TWS shot straight to number one on Japan’s Oricon ‘Daily Album Ranking’ on May 4, the day of release, and reclaimed the top spot on May 6 and 9, proving their solid global popularity.
Riding the momentum of their two music show wins, TWS will continue their active promotions starting with Mnet ‘M Countdown’ on May 14, followed by appearances on ‘Music Bank’, ‘Show! Music Core’, and ‘Inkigayo’.
