“The more you know, the more you see, and the more you see, the deeper it becomes.”
To celebrate World Museum Day on May 18, global channel Arirang TV is shining a spotlight on the value of Korean cultural heritage through “Visible Docent.” The program will introduce nine representative masterpieces from the National Museum of Korea.
This project was designed to expand the Hallyu wave beyond modern pop culture like K-pop and K-drama, highlighting the meaning and beauty of the traditional cultural heritage that forms the roots of Korean culture.
Centered around artifacts from the National Museum of Korea, the series is produced with short and concise explanations so that viewers both at home and abroad can easily and interestingly understand Korea’s cultural treasures.
Singer Hong Isaac has joined the program as the narrator. With his calm voice, he is expected to increase the immersion of the videos by conveying the history and meaning embedded in the artifacts.

The content introduces nine representative pieces selected and supervised by the National Museum of Korea. These include the Silla gold crown and gold belt, the earthenware figure of a rider, the Pensive Bodhisattva, the celadon lion-shaped incense burner, the celadon openwork cloisonné incense burner, the Oegyujanggak Uigwe (Sukjong’s funeral), the Daedongyeojido and its woodblocks, Danwon’s genre paintings, and the white porcelain moon jar.
Kwon Tae-cheol, Head of Broadcasting at Arirang TV, stated, “As global interest in Korean culture grows, it is also important to introduce the value of traditional cultural heritage. We hope this program serves as an opportunity to understand the historical depth and artistry of Korean culture.”
“Visible Docent” will be first released on May 18, World Museum Day. Starting with the prologue and the “Silla Gold Crown and Gold Belt” episode, two episodes will be released sequentially every week via Arirang TV and its official YouTube channel.
