‘True Story Expedition’ is shedding light on the power trip controversy surrounding the former CEO of Yakson House.
Former CEO Kim, the former head of Korea’s leading aesthetic brand Yakson House, is known as a success story who grew her assets from 5 million won to over 10 billion won. She currently serves as an internal director. Franchise owners trusted her promise that following her training would lead to owning a successful store, believing that joining the brand would open a path to success.
However, reality was far from their expectations. Once the stores opened, surveillance and pressure from the headquarters intensified, and various unpaid balances from the contracting process began to pile up. Consequently, owners were reportedly forced to attend training sessions at the headquarters until dawn, even after their work hours.
The demands went beyond professional duties. CEO Kim reportedly monitored the owners by setting appearance standards under the guise of customer management. Those who failed to meet these standards were forced to determine their own penalties. Between the overwhelming unpaid debts, excessive surveillance, pressure regarding appearance, and forced overnight training, the relationship between the owners and the woman who promised them success has turned into a nightmare.

“We are modern-day slaves”… Owners who lost even their privacy
Headquarters training continued day and night, regardless of whether it was a weekday or weekend. Owners were reportedly required to memorize everything CEO Kim taught and study constantly. This overnight training reportedly interfered with their work the following day. These incidents are hard to believe for a relationship between franchise owners and a CEO.
CEO Kim reportedly required owners who did not meet her appearance standards to report their weight daily and even demanded that they seek her permission before undergoing plastic surgery. Despite this, owners could not easily rebel against the unreasonable instructions. This “Aesthetic Kingdom” is a place where once you enter, you cannot escape due to massive debts and the threat of lawsuits. Find out why they couldn’t refuse these irrational demands on tonight’s (7th) episode of ‘True Story Expedition’ at 9 PM.
