Weverse Rides the BTS 'ARIRANG' Wave, Solidifying Its Spot as the Ultimate Fan Hub!

Weverse, the global super-fan platform by Weverse Company, has proven its “all-in-one” service competitiveness by playing a pivotal role throughout the comeback activities of BTS.

Weverse Company revealed that during the promotions for BTS’s 5th full-length album, ‘ARIRANG’, approximately 30 different service areas—including community, commerce, media, and live streaming—were utilized. Thanks to this, Weverse’s Monthly Active Users (MAU) for the first quarter of this year hit 13.37 million, a 20% increase from the previous quarter.

The excitement started on January 5 at midnight when the news of BTS’s comeback was first revealed via Weverse. Visitors that day surged by 246% compared to the previous day, reaching 3.37 million. Later, when the ‘ARIRANG’ world tour and album pre-order notices were posted on January 14 and 16, the average daily visitor count skyrocketed to 5.24 million. On February 9, when the news of ‘BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG’ in Gwanghwamun was announced, visitors increased by 44% from the day before.

Real-time communication between the artists and fans also centered around Weverse. Ahead of the comeback, Jimin shared photos from the practice room to build anticipation, while Jin and J-Hope connected with fans by leaving thank-you messages after the Goyang concert. During the same period, fans wrote about 8 million posts and sent a total of 448,092 messages through the ‘Fan Letter’ feature.

Live content was a huge hit! BTS held a total of 10 real-time broadcasts via ‘Weverse Live’. ‘STUDIO NOTES | ARIRANG’, released right after the album launch, garnered 11.7 million views, and the live stream where they explained the meaning of the album title ‘ARIRANG’ recorded about 7.8 million views. That specific broadcast saw 1.1 million real-time comments, showing the incredible engagement of the global fandom.

The commerce platform ‘Weverse Shop’ was also heavily utilized. So far, 87 types of ‘ARIRANG’ albums and related merch have been sold. Weverse has built a global infrastructure capable of shipping to 245 countries and regions based on logistics centers in Korea, Japan, and the US. In particular, the ‘Pickup’ service, which allows fans to receive products at the venue using only a QR code after ordering online, drew attention for reducing long wait times at world tour sites.

Content consumption happened entirely within Weverse. Over 30 pieces of video and image content related to ‘ARIRANG’—including the tracklist, concept photos, animated trailers, music videos, choreography practice videos, and behind-the-scenes content—were uploaded, increasing the time fans spent on the platform.

The world tour, held for the first time in four years, was also managed through Weverse. ‘ARMY Membership’ subscribers received pre-sale benefits for the Gwanghwamun and Goyang concerts, while fans who couldn’t attend in person watched the live stream via ‘Weverse Concert’. The Tokyo performance even expanded the platform experience by offering a ‘Multi-View’ feature, allowing fans to choose their preferred camera angle.

Fan activities connecting online and offline continued as well. The pop-up store celebrating the new album was operated through the Weverse pre-reservation system, and ‘Weverse Spot’ and ‘Stamp Rally’ features were used during ‘BTS THE CITY ARIRANG SEOUL’ across downtown Seoul. Fans expanded their offline event experience by collecting digital stamps at the sites.

The ‘Listening Party’ feature, which has seen increased use within the fandom, also delivered results. This service allows fans to listen to playlists and communicate together by linking with music platforms like Melon, Spotify, and Apple Music. Since the release of ‘ARIRANG’, a total of 170 listening parties were held, including 160 hosted by fans, with cumulative streaming reaching 10.96 million.

A representative from Weverse Company stated, “Through this BTS comeback, the utility and service range of Weverse in supporting fan activities 360 degrees have been confirmed once again. We plan to continue expanding and upgrading our services as a platform that encompasses overall fan activities as well as supporting artists and label activities.”

Meanwhile, Weverse plans to operate key services such as the Stamp Rally, Pickup, and Weverse Concert during the local ‘BTS THE CITY ARIRANG’ events taking place in Las Vegas, USA, from the 20th to the 31st.
