Channel A’s ‘My Golden Child’ is set to reveal the story of an elementary school student struggling with impulse control due to dopamine addiction.
In the episode airing on the 15th, a couple raising two sons, aged 10 and 7, will appear. Interestingly, the mother had previously applied to the program three years ago for parenting advice. Despite trying various methods since then, she is seeking help once again as her son’s impulsive behavior has reportedly worsened.

Observation footage shows Geum-jjok-i finishing his studies on a tablet after school. While his father allows him to use his phone at the agreed time, he strictly forbids one specific game. This triggers an immediate emotional explosion, with Geum-jjok-i wailing and reacting intensely toward the phone.
Word has it that the studio was left in shock once the reason why the parents had to ban that specific game was revealed, leaving viewers curious about what exactly happened.
Further footage captures Geum-jjok-i forcing his sleeping younger brother to wake up. He shakes his brother awake because he wants to play, and as the brother doesn’t respond, his behavior becomes increasingly aggressive. When the brother eventually bursts into tears and the mother tries to mediate, Geum-jjok-i loses control of his emotions, shouting, “I have no patience!”
Dr. Oh Eun-young expressed concern, analyzing that Geum-jjok-i’s condition is “beyond simple impulsivity, appearing similar to a brain that has done ‘this’.”
Another clip shows Geum-jjok-i changing the rules of a game of tag to suit his own whims. When he is finally caught by the seeker, he collapses and sobs, leaving his friends completely bewildered by his unexpected reaction.
Whether there is a way to stop Geum-jjok-i’s impulsive behavior will be revealed in the solution provided by Dr. Oh Eun-young on ‘My Golden Child,’ airing May 15 at 9 PM.
