Actress Park Kyung-hye recently shared some hilarious and relatable stories from her search for a studio apartment.
On the 4th, a video titled “I’ll answer everything you’re curious about regarding living alone | Deureobollae EP1” was uploaded to her YouTube channel, ‘Kyung-hye Bollae’. In the video, Park Kyung-hye took some time to answer questions from her subscribers about living on their own.
While reading a story from a subscriber in their late 30s who is starting to live alone for the first time, she offered some practical advice. Park Kyung-hye suggested, “Set a precise budget. You need to plan your budget in advance and find a place that fits within it.”
She also emphasized the importance of inspecting a home carefully. “Since someone was still living there, I felt it would be rude to look through their belongings. So, I just took a quick look from the entrance,” she recalled. She added, “It’s better to check thoroughly for things like mold or old bathrooms and negotiate with the landlord about what can be fixed before moving in.” Park Kyung-hye then admitted, “I didn’t know that. After seeing the defects, I contacted a move-in cleaning service, but the schedule got messed up, and I ended up sleeping on the floor for two to three days,” which sparked laughter.
She also caught everyone’s attention by sharing a blunt moment with a previous landlord. “When I went to see another place, I saw pest control products displayed on top of the refrigerator. I immediately sensed it was a cockroach-prone area,” she said. “When I came to this house, I asked the previous owner, ‘I’m so sorry, but could you tell me honestly? Have you ever seen a cockroach while living here?'” She revealed that the owner replied there were no cockroaches, only gnats or small bugs, to which she responded, “I thought just not having cockroaches was a win!”
After the video was posted, netizens left supportive and relatable comments, such as “I’m about to move out soon, so I totally relate,” “Preparing to live alone isn’t easy,” and “This is such helpful advice.”
Previously, on the 17th of last month, Park Kyung-hye appeared on the MBC variety show ‘I Live Alone’ and revealed her realistic daily life.
