In ‘Red Pearl’, Park Jin-hee is seen attempting to force a divorce between Kim Hee-jung and Choi Jae-sung to protect her son’s standing.
In the KBS2 daily drama ‘Red Pearl’ aired on the 25th, Dan-hee (Park Jin-hee) is depicted trying to seize Jung-ran’s (Kim Hee-jung) position and establish her son Min-jun (Kim Kyung-bo) as the successor.
When faced with a situation where Min-jun might be pushed out of the company, Dan-hee demands that Tae-ho (Choi Jae-sung) marry her. She pressures him, stating, “I want to become your legal wife. You cannot give me what I want, which is why I said I would leave.” She continues, “I gave up my life as a woman for Min-jun. If this is the price for that sacrifice and I cannot protect Min-jun, I will reclaim my life now. I will start a new life not as your woman, but as someone else’s wife.”
To this, Tae-ho responds, “I don’t know about marriage, but I guarantee Min-jun’s position. As long as I am here, no one can touch my son.” However, Dan-hee does not back down, arguing, “The Madam will constantly shake the stability of our Min-jun, who has lost his memory.”
Eventually, Tae-ho holds Dan-hee’s hand and tells Jung-ran, “Stop interfering with Min-jun’s position. If you shake his position, I can’t guarantee your place as the Madam.” Jung-ran is unable to hide her sense of betrayal when Tae-ho even brings up the possibility of divorce.
In a private confrontation, Jung-ran emphasizes, “Park Tae-ho can never throw me away.” Dan-hee counters, “We’ll have to see about that. I wonder which one of us the Chairman will end up discarding.” However, Jung-ran shouts, “I have been Park Tae-ho’s wife for the last 30 years. You are the one who will be thrown away,” showing her determination to keep her position.
Dan-hee, who originally entered Park Tae-ho’s house using her twin sister’s name for revenge, sheds tears and says, “I’m sorry, sister. I’ve come to live under your name, and I wanted to protect at least the legal documents and avoid the marriage you didn’t want, but now it seems I must give up even my remaining pride.” After realizing Jung-ran was involved in Min-jun’s accident, she vows, “I will take everything from Oh Jung-ran and remove her from Min-jun’s side.”
Dan-hee seeks a way to make Tae-ho and Jung-ran divorce and sets her sights on Song Geun-tae (Lee Myung-ho), who has stayed by Jung-ran’s side for 30 years. She begins digging into the relationship between Jung-ran and Geun-tae from 30 years ago, closely observing Geun-tae’s devoted nature as he comforts a weeping Jung-ran. The episode ends with Dan-hee stating, “I’ll use him as the card to make Park Tae-ho and Oh Jung-ran divorce,” heightening curiosity about how her counterattack will shake Jung-ran’s position.
