xikers’ Minjae recently spoke about the team’s new direction.
On the 19th at 4 PM, xikers held a showcase at the NOL Theater Hapjeong Tongyang Life Hall in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their 7th mini album, ‘ROUTE ZERO : The ORA’, officially kicking off their comeback activities. This album marks their first new release after concluding a series that spanned 2 years and 7 months since their debut.
The title track ‘OKay’ has a clear direction. It captures xikers’ energy as they boldly push aside the rules set by the world and move forward in their own way. Even the title is short and direct!
During the event, Minjae shared, “We are a team that often gathers to talk. I believe we’ve shown various concepts and genres of music since our debut. While we have the ability to pull off many things, I thought it might seem a bit chaotic from the outside.”
He continued, “I felt it might be difficult to define us in one word. Since that wasn’t what we were aiming for, we spent a lot of time thinking deeply about it.”
He added, “As we enter our 4th year, we wanted to show a more mature side, so we aimed to capture a consistent, mature, and weighted image.”
The tracklist for this album is also distinct. It features a total of five songs, including the title track ‘OKay’, ‘Ghost Rider’, ‘Graffiti’, ‘Trophy’, and ‘Outsider’. ‘Ghost Rider’ captures a chilly sprint, ‘Graffiti’ a free atmosphere, ‘Trophy’ the team’s synergy, and ‘Outsider’ the image of dazzling youth.
Meanwhile, xikers’ ‘The ORA’ will be released on various music sites at 6 PM today.
