Yang Joon-hyuk revealed that his salary saw a major boost during his playing days, all thanks to Lee Seung-yeop!

In the May 17 episode of KBS 2TV’s ‘The Boss’s Ears are Donkey Ears’, Yang Joon-hyuk stepped up as a one-day coach for the Uiseong High School baseball team.
Speaking to 40 high school baseball juniors, Yang Joon-hyuk shared, “Some might think I was always the top player, but that’s not true. When I was with the Lions, Lee Seung-yeop was always right there. I hit 3rd, and Lee Seung-yeop hit 4th.” He added, “While Seung-yeop received most of the spotlight, I never felt jealous. Baseball isn’t a sport you can master alone.”
While emphasizing the importance of teamwork, Yang Joon-hyuk explained, “When Lee Seung-yeop set the Asian home run record, his salary rose to the 600 million won range. I was at 140 million won, but it naturally jumped to 400 million won. Because Lee Seung-yeop did so well, my salary went up too.” He noted that when a teammate succeeds, others can often reap the benefits as well.
