Singer Tony An from ‘My Little Old Boy’ suffered a loss of millions of won in just one hour after selling his large-cap Samsung Electronics shares to invest in small-cap stocks.
In the May 17 episode of SBS’s ‘My Little Old Boy’, viewers got a glimpse into the daily life of Tony An, who has recently been diving deep into studying the stock market.
Tension filled Tony’s room 28 minutes before the market opened. With a mouse in his right hand and his phone in his left, he was completely focused. His monitor was packed with detailed notes from his intense analysis, showing his incredible passion for trading.
Finally, the market opened at 9 AM sharp. As things started off on a positive note, Tony couldn’t hide his smile, saying, “I wish every day was like this!”

However, the joy was short-lived. In a bold move, he sold all of his Samsung Electronics shares to jump into highly volatile small-cap stocks. Just one hour later, the charts plummeted, leaving Tony with a massive loss of 2.95 million won.
Seeing his account suddenly turn blue, Tony held his head in his hands, panicking and crying out, “What do I do? Why is this happening?”
