YG General Producer Yang Hyun Suk is rolling up his sleeves and stepping directly into the spotlight to ensure the highest quality for TREASURE’s upcoming album.
According to YG Entertainment on the 26th, Yang Hyun Suk participated in every single track of TREASURE’s 4th mini album ‘NEW WAV’, set for release on June 1. He provided full-scale support, placing his name (YG) at the very front of the composition and arrangement credits for all songs except one.
While Yang Hyun Suk has been involved in representative hits for other artists, including BABYMONSTER’s ‘CHOOM’, this is the first time he has taken the lead in directing every track of an entire mini album like ‘NEW WAV’.
Yang Hyun Suk previously teased the start of TREASURE’s “Act 2” with ‘NEW WAV’, describing it as “personally my favorite result” among their albums. This highlights the immense effort he put into this album, which serves as a turning point for TREASURE’s new leap and transformation.
The 4th mini album ‘NEW WAV’ features four new songs, including the title track ‘IF I’, as well as ‘ZOOM ZOOM’, ‘NALLY-NA’ (HYUNHAYO of TREASURE), and ‘DANGER’. TREASURE is set to grandly open their “Act 2” with a clearer musical identity and their own unique colors. Teaser content has already built high anticipation, hinting at a new musical world filled with YG’s signature deep hip-hop vibe and raw, gritty energy.
Regarding the title track ‘IF I’, YG stated, “It is a song that captures strong confidence and ambition to move higher by proving their possibilities and potential,” raising expectations.
YG further explained that the 4th mini album is “an album that unravels TREASURE’s diverse sides through the hip-hop genre, allowing listeners to experience their musical world more clearly than ever.” They added, “Please look forward to TREASURE’s new chapter as they approach with a bolder and more intense charm.”
