On the MBC variety show ‘How Do You Play’, Yoo Jae Suk, Joo Woo Jae, and Lee Sun Min sparked laughter after fleeing to avoid paying the bill, leading to funny accusations of being car thieves and “dining and dashers.” The escalating “War of Money” kept viewers on the edge of their seats.
The episode aired on the 16th featured Yoo Jae Suk, Haha, Heo Kyung Hwan, Joo Woo Jae, Yang Sang Guk, and new guest Lee Sun Min in a special “War of Money in Changwon” episode.
The show dominated the ratings, ranking #1 for its time slot and among Saturday variety shows with a 4.3% rating in the capital area and 2.7% among the 2049 demographic. The peak minute reached 6.2% during the ending scene where a betrayed Heo Kyung Hwan was left to pay for everything, according to Nielsen Korea.
This “War of Money” took place in Joo Woo Jae’s hometown of Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do. Haha, who attended elementary and middle school there, bragged about being a true “Changwon local,” while Joo Woo Jae emphasized his “Changwon elite course,” from kindergarten to his prep school.
Joining them was Lee Sun Min from Gumi. When he introduced himself as being born in 1988, the same age as G-Dragon, the members were confused, telling him, “Stop lying!” Lee Sun Min initially intimidated the older members with an intense gaze but soon won them over with a hilarious impression of actor Noh Joo Hyun.
Joo Woo Jae led the group on a trip down memory lane to his old elementary school. However, the students were more interested in the drone camera than Joo Woo Jae, leading Heo Kyung Hwan to tease him, saying the drone was more popular. One child even made the crowd burst into laughter by telling Yoo Jae Suk, “I saw you avoiding paying!”
Next, the members visited a Milmyeon (wheat noodle) restaurant filled with Joo Woo Jae’s memories. Heo Kyung Hwan tried to liven up the mood with his own stories, but it resulted in an unexpected silence. Feeling awkward, he joked, “Broadcasting isn’t hard. Just be comfortable,” adding to the humor. An arm-wrestling match between Yoo Jae Suk and Joo Woo Jae then broke out to decide who would pay for the noodles, with Yoo Jae Suk securing victory by using “illegal” tactics like headbutting and using both hands.
After visiting Changdong Art Village and an arcade, the members enjoyed a final feast at a BBQ restaurant. As the time to pay approached, a fierce psychological battle began. Yoo Jae Suk seized the moment while the others were listening to the game rules and bolted outside. Joo Woo Jae and Lee Sun Min joined him to form a “fugitive team,” while Haha stayed put near the restaurant.
Left behind, Heo Kyung Hwan and Yang Sang Guk were speechless. Laughter erupted when it was revealed that the car Yoo Jae Suk used for his getaway belonged to Yang Sang Guk’s friend. A bewildered Yang Sang Guk exclaimed, “How could you just take my friend’s car?”
