Get ready for some serious excitement! ‘Yoo Jae Suk Camp,’ premiering on Tuesday, May 26, is already making waves thanks to its incredible cast. Fans are especially thrilled about the meeting of ‘Nation’s MC’ Yoo Jae Suk and actor Byun Woo Seok, who’s currently starring in MBC’s hit drama ’21st Century Grand Princess,’ which boasts an impressive 13.3% rating!
Netflix’s ‘Yoo Jae Suk Camp’ is a group camping variety show where rookie camp manager Yoo Jae Suk, along with his unpredictable staff Lee Kwang Soo, Byun Woo Seok, and Ji Ye Eun, will chat, play, and have a blast with guests, helping them escape their everyday lives. Get ready to see the usually smooth-sailing Yoo Jae Suk transform into a charmingly clumsy rookie camp manager, promising big laughs and special moments. What’s even more exciting is that this show is Netflix’s latest ‘guesthouse variety’ from Jung Hyo Min PD’s team, following the incredibly popular and unique ‘Daehwanjang Gianjang’!
The recently unveiled main poster and trailer are already sparking major curiosity, showcasing ‘Yoo Jae Suk Camp’ as a ‘full course’ of fun! The main poster features Camp Manager Yoo Jae Suk on a podium, surrounded by staff members whose expressions hint at a rollercoaster of emotions. Plus, an intriguing phrase on a hot air balloon in the sky declares, ‘The guest is king, and I am also king’ – talk about a twist!
The main trailer instantly grabs attention with the super enthusiastic welcome from Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo, Byun Woo Seok, and Ji Ye Eun as they greet their guests! The 2-night, 3-day camp schedule is absolutely packed with non-stop fun, from wake-up missions and morning yoga to iron-box quizzes, campfires, talent shows, outdoor adventures, and even Secret Santa – talk about a jam-packed itinerary! You’ll see ‘rookie boss’ Yoo Jae Suk in a constant frenzy, while the staff members are hilariously rushing to keep things running. Meet Lee Kwang Soo, the ‘discipline leader’ who’s in charge of keeping both the boss and guests in line with laughter. Then there’s Byun Woo Seok, the ‘clumsy grand prince,’ who sheds his trending actor persona to become a sweet, caring guy focused on guest healing, revealing an unexpectedly charming, laid-back side. And finally, Ji Ye Eun, the youngest but the only experienced staff member, acting as a ‘true friend maker’ by forming genuine bonds with the guests. Fans can’t wait to see the heartwarming and hilarious moments unfold as these four busy bees manage a large group of guests in their ‘clumsy’ camp diary!
And if that wasn’t enough, the iconic couple Lee Hyo Ri and Lee Sang Soon are also making a special appearance! They’ll be joining ‘Yoo Jae Suk Camp’ as super-special part-timers, leading morning yoga sessions for guests and naturally blending in, showing off their ‘guesthouse pioneer’ vibes!
Producers Jung Hyo Min, Lee So Min, and Hwang Yoon Seo shared some fun insights! They revealed that the catchy slogan, ‘The guest is king, and I am also king,’ was actually chosen by Yoo Jae Suk himself, stemming from the idea that staff members deserve respect too. They playfully added, “As filming went on, the staff, working non-stop through a super intense schedule, started to grumble a bit, and the hilarious gap between the slogan and reality became another fantastic source of laughter!” The producers also explained their vision: “We wanted to naturally bring back everyone’s camping memories, but also create a ‘fantasy-like space’ that feels out of this world. Our goal was to structure it like a real training camp with a set timetable, but then sprinkle in unique ‘Yoo Jae Suk-style’ content, like cushion quizzes or iron-box games, to add a layer of fantasy to those cherished memories.”
Mark your calendars! ‘Yoo Jae Suk Camp’ will drop exclusively on Netflix over two exciting weeks, with episodes 1-5 premiering on Tuesday, May 26, and episodes 6-10 following on Tuesday, June 2!
