The members of ‘놀면 뭐하니?’ have officially entered a “casting war” as they dive into a project to create a short-form drama!
In the episode aired on the 2nd, the cast was shown forming teams with the goal of producing a short-form series.
Yoo Jae Suk stepped into the role of director and held interviews, selecting Haha, Heo Kyung Hwan, and Joo Woo Jae as his new team members. Right from the start, Yoo Jae Suk caught everyone’s attention by showing an intense desire to cast big-name actors.
During the interview, Joo Woo Jae confidently claimed he understands the characteristics of short-form dramas, but Yoo Jae Suk was more interested in his connections. He repeatedly asked, “Can you get Byeon Woo Seok?” leaving Joo Woo Jae completely flustered. Joo Woo Jae jokingly snapped, “Are you just using me as a stepping stone for casting?” before eventually agreeing to try and make the call.

Haha also tried to appeal to his acting skills, highlighting his background in theater and film. However, when asked to deliver a line from the movie ‘The King and the Clown’, he honestly admitted, “I haven’t seen that movie.” He then attempted some improvised acting using a Busan dialect, but Yoo Jae Suk’s cold reaction only added to the hilarity.
During the actual casting meeting, Yoo Jae Suk revealed his dream cast: “I want to recruit Byeon Woo Seok and IU as the male and female leads.” Haha immediately shut him down, shouting, “Stop joking around!” which sent the set into fits of laughter.
To find a more realistic alternative, the members thought of actors they knew and headed to Mok-dong to meet Kim Seok Hoon. Surprised by the sudden proposal, Kim Seok Hoon expressed hesitation, noting that it had been 15 years since he last did a romance. Despite the members’ enthusiastic persuasion, he insisted on reviewing the script first, leaving the casting on hold.
Ultimately, Yoo Jae Suk warned of the difficulties in recruiting lead actors, saying, “Depending on the situation, we might have to act in it ourselves.” While the members continued the project by using AI for the plot and music, they quickly ran into the harsh realities of production.
