“You Benefited So Much From Dahong!” Netizens Debate Park Soo-hong’s Video of Pet Cat Hiding From Daughter Jae-i

Park Soo-hong recently shared an update on his pet cat, Dahong, but the scenes in the video have sparked a heated debate online.

On the 18th, a video titled “Update on Dahong, the cat who saved Park Soo-hong” was uploaded to his YouTube channel. Since the birth of his daughter, Jae-i, Dahong hasn’t appeared as often, leading fans to constantly ask, “How is Dahong doing?”

In the video, Jae-i is seen touching and following Dahong while the cat is resting, causing Dahong to avoid her as if startled. When Jae-i playfully puts cat food into Dahong’s water bowl, Park Soo-hong laughs and asks, “Are you making gukbap for her?”

Later, Dahong hides inside a closet. Park Soo-hong watches the situation, saying, “Are you hiding in there to avoid Jae-i? Parenting must be hard for you too.” As the video continues to show Dahong avoiding Jae-i, some netizens expressed concern.

Some netizens criticized Park Soo-hong’s reaction, commenting, “Please stop the baby. The cat looks stressed, why just keep filming?” “Park Soo-hong benefited a lot from Dahong, so don’t forget to take good care of her,” “I’ve seen many pets get sidelined after a baby arrives, but since he called her his savior, shouldn’t he be more mindful?” and “It looks like they need separate spaces.” Some also criticized the inclusion of promotional elements in the long-awaited Dahong content.

On the other hand, some defended him, saying, “It seems like a natural process since she’s still a baby,” “It’s a problem that will be solved as Jae-i grows,” and “He’s probably taking great care of her when the camera isn’t rolling.”

Meanwhile, Park Soo-hong has previously expressed deep affection for Dahong on various shows, mentioning that the cat helped him endure his hardest times. Specifically, during an appearance on Radio Star, he stated, “Dahong is my child.” When Kim Gura joked that cats were once called “mischievous creatures,” Park reacted playfully, asking, “Is MC Gree a mischievous creature?” which drew laughter.

He has consistently shown his love for cats, even noting that “one year for a cat is like 4 to 7 years for a human,” adding, “Imagine if your child aged 7 years in just one year.” Because of his reputation as a devoted cat lover, the reactions to this latest video have been particularly intense.
