Broadcaster Lee Geum-hee Hospitalized Due to Health Issues, Advised to Remain Silent

Broadcaster Lee Geum-hee has shared a heartbreaking update about receiving hospital treatment for health issues. It was revealed that she has been advised by medical staff to remain silent due to a combination of a severe throat cold and vocal cord edema.

On the 13th, Lee Geum-hee posted a photo of herself receiving IV treatment at a hospital, accompanied by an apology to her fans.

In the photo, she is seen resting while undergoing treatment, which has left many fans worried.

Explaining her current state, Lee Geum-hee said, “I have a severe throat cold and my vocal cords are very swollen, so the doctor advised me not to use my voice for a while.” She added, “I am currently in a situation where I must remain silent.”

This news is particularly concerning as she has previously struggled with vocal cord issues that caused her to lose her voice.

Lee Geum-hee previously opened up about her throat health struggles on Channel A’s ‘Best Friend Documentary 4-Person Table’ last year.

At the time, she revealed she suffered from acute laryngitis due to extreme stress while caring for her mother, confessing, “I couldn’t speak for two weeks, so I couldn’t even host the radio. I was truly shocked when the hospital told me that no sound would come out for two weeks.”

Although she has since consistently managed her throat health through voice and language clinics, her condition has worsened again, making treatment and rest essential.

Lee Geum-hee joined KBS as a 16th open recruitment announcer in 1989 and became a beloved national figure while hosting flagship programs like ‘TV is Carrying Love’ and ‘AM Plaza’. She is currently active as a freelance broadcaster.
