The 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards Hits Massive Milestones: 5.19 Million Live Viewers and 100 Million Video Views!

The “62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci” wrapped up in style, recording a whopping 5.19 million cumulative viewers for its digital live stream! This year’s ceremony, including the first outdoor red carpet in seven years, was streamed live on Naver Chzzk. Fans from Korea and all around the world tuned in via official channels and co-streaming with their favorite streamers. This total surpasses last year’s combined viewership of 1.3 million on Naver Chzzk and 3.2 million on Prism. The peak concurrent viewership also soared past 80,000, an increase of 25,000 from last year’s 55,000, proving the explosive popularity of the event.

It’s not just the live stream that’s booming! Video content related to the Baeksang Arts Awards is also seeing a steady climb in views. From April 3 to May 13, pre- and post-ceremony videos uploaded to Naver surpassed 100 million views, showing that the hype is still going strong even after the curtains closed.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Korean musicals, the “62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci” introduced a brand-new Musical category. By awarding four categories—TV, Film, Theater, and now Musicals—the event has taken a leap forward as a true comprehensive arts award for popular culture. It’s being praised as a festival that breaks down genre boundaries and embraces all fields of K-content.

In the TV category, the Grand Prize went to Ryu Seung-ryong, while Hyun Bin and Park Bo-young took home the Best Actor and Actress awards. For Film, the Grand Prize was awarded to Yoo Hae-jin, with Park Jeong-min and Moon Ga-young winning Best Actor and Actress. The first-ever Best Work award in the Musical category went to “Mongyu Dowon,” and the first-ever Best Actor trophy in the Musical category was lifted by Kim Junsu. You can check the full list of winners across all categories on the official Baeksang Arts Awards website.

Although the ceremony is over, the excitement continues with various linked events. Cultural activities tied to the “Gucci Impact Award” in the Film category are currently being prepared. A “Rooftop Cinema” will be held at the Gucci Cheongdam Flagship Store from May 22 to 23, screening this year’s “Gucci Impact Award” winners and judge-recommended works. Please note that the Rooftop Cinema is open to invited guests only. The festivities will conclude with a gala dinner for the winners on May 29.
