TV CHOSUN’s ‘Survival King 2’ is teasing a massive scale and an upgraded survival narrative ahead of its premiere!
New MC Kim Jong Kook and the original ‘Survival King’ Kim Byung Man have shared their excitement and determination, ramping up anticipation for the show. Premiering Wednesday, May 20th at 10 PM, TV CHOSUN’s ‘Survival King 2’ is a global national competition where elite survivalists from four countries Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Malaysia battle it out for national pride.
This season, Kim Jong Kook, the symbol of Korean physical variety shows, joins as the MC, while Kim Byung Man returns as the leader of ‘Team Korea’ to defend the throne once again.
Reflecting on joining the show, MC Kim Jong Kook said, “The first season was so successful and created such a buzz, so I was incredibly excited and happy to join when I received the offer.”
Regarding his role as MC, he expressed his ambition, saying, “Since it’s a national competition, I want to focus on ensuring the hosting is balanced overall, and if I get the chance, I’d love to be directly helpful during the missions.” As for the highlight of the show, he added, “The moments where members from each country, with their diverse skills and characters, show unexpected twists will provide great entertainment,” further heightening expectations.
As the first-ever winner, Kim Byung Man’s resolve was equally strong. “My biggest goal is to stay grounded. I’ll keep a cheerful expression, but I must always be serious when it comes to survival,” he stated, showing his determination to stay focused. When asked why fans must watch this season, he joked, “Ratings only go up if you watch,” but confidently added, “We will show a much more mature and experienced side than Season 1, with deeper survival stories, teamwork, and an upgraded level of survival fun.” With the combination of charismatic MC Kim Jong Kook’s smooth hosting and the seasoned survival skills of ‘K-Survival’ legend Kim Byung Man, ‘Survival King 2’ is making fans eager to tune in.
