On May 15 at 11 AM (local time), the official photocall for ‘Swarm,’ invited to the Midnight Screening, took place at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France. Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-bin, Kim Shin-rok, and director Yeon Sang-ho kicked off their first schedule at the Cannes Film Festival.

Director Yeon Sang-ho, who sparked the K-zombie craze with ‘Train to Busan,’ has returned to Cannes with his third zombie project, ‘Swarm,’ following ‘Peninsula,’ once again getting the hype train moving.

Ji Chang-wook showcased a dandy look, sporting a black suit and horn-rimmed glasses.

‘Swarm’ is a film about isolated survivors trapped inside a building locked down due to a mysterious infection, fighting against infected individuals who evolve in unpredictable ways. The movie will make its debut with a world premiere screening at midnight.

This marks director Yeon Sang-ho’s fourth invitation to the Cannes Film Festival, starting with his first feature animation ‘The King of Pigs’ (2012, Director’s Fortnight), followed by ‘Train to Busan’ (2016, Midnight Screening), and ‘Peninsula’ (2020, Official Selection). Having left a strong impression on the global film scene with the Korean-style zombie genre and original twists, director Yeon Sang-ho is set to prove the power of Korean cinema once again through ‘Swarm.’
Meanwhile, ‘Swarm,’ which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, will be released on the 21st.
