Singer Nam Jin honestly shared behind-the-scenes stories of filming with the top actresses of his time.
On the May 16 broadcast of MBN’s ‘Dongchimi’, the second part of the 700th episode special titled “Kids, Oppa is still alive” was revealed.
During the episode, Nam Jin brought up stories about the actresses he worked with in past movie shoots. When the MCs asked, “Among the actors you filmed with back then, who was actually the most beautiful?” Nam Jin picked Nam Jung-im.
Nam Jin recalled, “It’s a personal preference, but Nam Jung-im was the prettiest. She had a great physique and a cool personality, the kind of style men would love.”
He then revealed the behind-the-scenes secrets of filming kiss scenes in his 20s. Nam Jin explained, “Back then, there was censorship by the Ministry of Culture, so lips weren’t allowed to touch. If it looked like they would touch, they would call ‘cut’ immediately.” However, he surprised everyone by admitting, “Still, there were times when emotions got involved.”
When Noh Sa-yeon asked if there was an actress he was most attracted to while filming, Nam Jin caused laughter by replying, “I can’t say that.” However, he honestly confessed, “When I felt a human connection with an actor, it got complicated. Since the camera was far and couldn’t see well, I’d slightly turn my head and just press my lips against theirs,” which caused a stir on set.
Fellow guest Cho Young-nam also shared a kiss scene anecdote involving Nam Jung-im.
Cho Young-nam said, “I had a kiss scene with Nam Jung-im in the movie ‘Only Once in My Life.’ I heard she brought a toothbrush that day,” sparking bursts of laughter. When asked who the most beautiful actress was at the time, he replied, “Since Yoon Yeo-jeong was by my side, I couldn’t think of anyone else.” Nam Jin immediately fired back with a blunt remark, “Then why did you [divorce]? Just live a long life,” which completely floored the set.
Meanwhile, Cho Young-nam married actress Yoon Yeo-jeong in 1974, had two sons, and divorced in 1987.
