DinDin is opening up about his real-life dating experiences!
Serving as an MC for KBS2’s ‘Noona is a Woman to Me’ Season 2, DinDin confessed his taste, saying, “I actually liked older women in the past. The charm of an older woman is that you can naturally lean on and rely on them.”
Premiering on the 23rd at 10:40 PM, ‘Noona is a Woman to Me 2’ (hereafter ‘Noona is a Woman to Me’) is a dating reality show featuring older women who haven’t found love yet due to their intense focus on their careers, and younger men who believe age is just a number when it comes to love.
DinDin, who has a deep connection with “noonas” (older women)—even creating a new meme called ‘Nemo-lighting’ (Nemo’s Dream + gaslighting)—joins this season as a new MC.
“New face MC” DinDin jokingly suggested that the influence of the noonas likely played a part in his casting. He showed confidence, adding, “Since I’m so used to spending time with noonas, I think I’ll be able to read their psychology well on the program.”
Here is a Q&A with DinDin, who is expected to thoroughly analyze ‘noona romance’ with his witty talk and honest reactions.
Q: You’ve joined ‘Noona is a Woman to Me.’ Were you cast because of ‘Nemo-lighting’?
A: I’m not sure since the production team knows the reason, but I think the influence of the noonas played a part. I was actually invited as a guest for Season 1, but unfortunately couldn’t make it due to my schedule. However, I was curious because the theme itself is interesting and seems to have a point of differentiation among many dating programs these days.
Q: If you watched Season 1, what did you think?
A: The production team strictly told me not to watch it. They said my reactions would be better if I didn’t, so I came without watching.
Q: Have you ever dated an older woman? What are your thoughts on older-younger couples?
A: I think I mainly liked older women. From when I was young until my 30s, I think I wanted to meet older women because I wasn’t mature enough. I feel there’s a charm in being able to naturally lean on and rely on an older woman.
Q: You’ve done many programs themed around ‘dating.’ What role will you play in ‘Noona is a Woman to Me’?
A: Since I’m used to being around noonas, I think I can read the psychology of older women when they are with younger men a bit better, and I plan to discuss that on the show.
Q: How was your chemistry with Han Hye-jin and Jang Wooyoung?
A: Actually, we had only passed each other before and never worked together, but since they are both veterans, it felt as comfortable as if we had been working together for a long time.
Q: What do you think is the unique point of ‘Noona is a Woman to Me’?
A: There are subtle emotions that people attracted to older women and those who find younger men cute can definitely feel. If you catch those, it will be a very interesting program. Also, the pace is faster than other programs and the stay period is shorter, so the development is quick, which made it enjoyable to watch.
Q: If you were a contestant on ‘Noona is a Woman to Me,’ how many ‘Love QRs’ do you think you’d receive based on first impressions?
A: Dating shows are heavily influenced by looks, so I think I’d just be the mood maker and leave happily without receiving a single one.
Q: What do you want to see from the contestants in Season 2, and what kind of couple do you hope will be born?
A: I hope to see people who sincerely want to date. I’d like it to feel like they came solely to find love without any other motives, and so far, it seems like everyone is like that, so I’m looking forward to it.
Q: Lastly, a word for the viewers of ‘Noona is a Woman to Me’?
A: If you watch for just a bit, you’ll understand why this show reached Season 2 among so many dating programs! Please tune in!
