Actress Im Soo-jung shared her heartfelt emotions while remembering her mother who has passed away.
At the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards held on the 8th, Im Soo-jung won the Best Supporting Actress award in the TV category for the Disney+ series ‘Pine: The Rustic Ones’. She caught everyone’s attention by stepping onto the stage wearing a sleek black tuxedo.
Immediately after winning, Im Soo-jung began her speech in a trembling voice, saying, “I feel a bit dizzy right now. I didn’t expect to receive this award.” She continued, “All the actors in ‘Pine: The Rustic Ones’ shined,” and added, “I’m grateful to Seung-ryong oppa for leading the way so we could have great chemistry.”
She then carefully mentioned her mother. Im Soo-jung confessed, “Personally, my steps coming here today weren’t very light,” revealing that “it has been a little over four months since my mother became a star in the sky.”
She further confessed, “As time passes, the words I couldn’t say kindly because I was busy remain in my heart, and the sadness deepens. I was spending time feeling as if my world had momentarily stopped.”
She moved the audience by calmly stating, “Receiving this award feels like my mom is telling me not to stay still and to move forward.”
