Ahn Hyo-seop Dominates Globally! 'Sold Out Today' Hits #1 and Met Gala Presence Steals the Spotlight

‘Sold Out Today,’ which premiered on the 22nd of last month, has soared to #1 in the Non-English TV category on the weekly charts from the 20th to the 26th. Outperforming its competitors, the show recorded 4.7 million views and 10.3 million viewing hours. It ranked #1 in 27 countries, including Korea, and entered the Top 10 in 78 countries, even landing #3 in the overall rankings including English-language titles.

This massive success is widely attributed to the global fandom and recognition Ahn Hyo-seop has steadily built. Following his worldwide popularity in the drama ‘Business Proposal,’ he further proved his global presence by voicing the main character, Jin-woo, in the Netflix animation ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters.’

In this latest project, Ahn Hyo-seop plays ‘Matthew Lee,’ a prickly young farmer growing mushrooms in Deokpung Village. He is capturing viewers’ hearts with a “hard on the outside, soft on the inside” charm and a steadfast commitment to his beliefs. His relatable character narrative combined with his signature delicate emotional acting is praised for resonating deeply with both domestic and international audiences.

The Met Gala, which began in 1948 and is held every year on the first Monday of May, is a world-renowned fashion event and charity fundraiser that serves as a symbolic stage where fashion, art, and culture converge. It is famous for inviting only global celebrities representing various fields such as film, music, and sports.

Ahn Hyo-seop caught everyone’s eye with a styling featuring a diagonal stripe pattern jacket with knot decorations and a long red scarf as a point. His attendance is even more meaningful as he is the first Korean male actor to attend in 11 years since Jung Ji-hoon.
