“Asking for Photos and Meetings!” Lee Su-ji’s Team Issues Urgent Warning Against Impersonation Scams

Comedian Lee Su-ji’s team has urged caution regarding impersonation scams.

On the 13th, Lee Su-ji’s YouTube channel ‘Hot Issue-ji’ posted a notice stating, “Cases have been confirmed where individuals impersonate staff from Hot Issue-ji to contact people privately or induce meetings,” requesting caution.

They continued, emphasizing that “Hot Issue-ji communicates via official email or verified representatives for appearances and collaborations,” and that they “do not request personal information, photos, or materials through unverified contacts, nor do they aggressively push for face-to-face meetings.”

Additionally, they added, “If you have received contact related to Hot Issue-ji and need to verify its authenticity, please do so through the official email,” and asked for “special caution to prevent damage from similar cases.”

Finally, the ‘Hot Issue-ji’ team concluded the notice by saying, “We would also like to thank those who reported this matter to us.”

With a recent rise in cases of people impersonating production staff and officials within the entertainment and YouTube industries, it appears Lee Su-ji’s side is taking direct action to prevent further victims.

It is no exaggeration to say it is the “Era of Lee Su-ji” right now! Lee Su-ji recently won the Best Female Entertainer award at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards, marking her second consecutive trophy. During her acceptance speech, she moved fans to tears as she credited the production team, stating that “even scenes that look like ad-libs are all thanks to the script.”

Having debuted as a KBS 27th open recruitment comedian in 2012, Lee Su-ji built her presence through shows like ‘Gag Concert’ and ‘SNL Korea’. Recently, she has been receiving immense love for her relatable “alt-character” content on her YouTube channel ‘Hot Issue-ji’, featuring characters like ‘Jamie Mom’, a parent from Daechi-dong, and ‘Lee Min-ji’, a kindergarten teacher.
