Park Jihoon’s spicy braised chicken in ‘Becoming a Legend of the Cooking Soldier’ faces a major crisis after being mistaken for causing food poisoning.
In the 6th episode of the TVING original drama ‘Becoming a Legend of the Cooking Soldier’ aired on the 26th, Kang Seong-jae (played by Park Jihoon) took part in the Korea Army Scientific Combat Training Center (KCTC) training.
Despite struggling through harsh conditions, including the outdoor environment and an old cooking trailer, Kang Seong-jae managed to complete the spicy braised chicken. However, the strong smell of oil caused the ratings to drop.
Meanwhile, Battalion Commander Baek Chun-ik (played by Jung Woong-in) visited the training site, adding to the tension. After the spicy braised chicken was distributed, Hwang Seok-ho (played by Lee Sang-yi) scolded Kang Seong-jae and Yoon Dong-hyun (played by Lee Hong-nae), asking, “Do you actually call this food?”
Kang Seong-jae tried to explain, saying, “The rice cooker is so old that it’s hard to stop the oil from leaking,” but Hwang Seok-ho pushed back, stating, “A true soldier doesn’t blame the equipment.” He further warned, “This will not be overlooked. I will hold you accountable after the training.”
But the trials for Kang Seong-jae didn’t end there. Baek Chun-ik showed symptoms of a stomachache after eating the spicy braised chicken. To make matters worse, as Baek Chun-ik rushed to the outdoor restroom, he found a long line of soldiers already waiting.
Ultimately, Kang Seong-jae and Yoon Dong-hyun were forced to do corrective exercises, while Hwang Seok-ho fumed, “How do you cook something that causes food poisoning?”
