In the third episode of MBC’s ‘Sora and Jinkyoung’ aired on the 10th, Lee Sora visited Hong Jin-kyung’s home ahead of their final hurdle: an online interview with a local agency for their trip to Paris.
Hong Jin-kyung prepared a feast of beef brisket mala vegetable stir-fry and Hanwoo shabu-shabu using recipes learned from a Chinese chef. In return, Lee Sora shared her secret ‘reverse-aging juice’ recipe and gifted her a blender. Hong Jin-kyung, who usually sticks to light meals, enjoyed a hearty meal with Lee Sora and shared a funny story about meeting her close friend Choi Hwa-jung with actress Jun Ji-hyun, where she felt vicariously satisfied just watching Choi Hwa-jung eat everything they ordered. After recharging, the two reviewed their final interview notes and waited for the moment of truth.
During the online interview, Lee Sora confidently shouted “BAAAM!” in front of the interviewers, following the energy she learned from ‘honorary Brit’ Baek Jin-kyung. Even when faced with unexpected questions, she shared her sincere desire, saying, “This is a challenge for myself. I want to seize the second chance I missed 30 years ago.” Hong Jin-kyung, who was initially nervous, gained confidence when the interviewer mentioned enjoying the ‘Single’s Inferno’ series. She boldly stated, “I want to break the stereotype that only young models can stand on a show.” In the end, both passed the local agency interview and secured their dream tickets to Paris.
To ensure a successful landing in Paris, a team of ‘special helpers’ stepped in. Stylist ‘Next Door Unnie Choi Sil-jang,’ who has 1 million subscribers, transformed the duo into true Parisians. French expert Dr. Jung Il-young provided quirky and unconventional survival strategies, such as “Europeans wear sunglasses even when it rains” and “Don’t look around too much.”
From MBTI and fashion tastes to daily habits, the polar opposite personalities of Lee Sora and Hong Jin-kyung revealed in the episode are expected to bring unexpected twists and laughter to their journey. Hong Jin-kyung, a self-proclaimed ‘business trip expert,’ showed her meticulous side while packing the day before departure, organizing pouches with labels and packing country-specific adapters, a portable iron, and even a ‘glowing Virgin Mary statue’ to brighten up their accommodation. On the other hand, Lee Sora caused laughter by packing everything in sight, including bedside brushes, gua sha tools, and cubes, like a walking general store.
At the end of the episode, the two finally arrived in Paris and looked at the Eiffel Tower with excitement. Hong Jin-kyung expressed her hope, saying, “If I get to stand in a show, that memory alone will provide immense energy for the rest of my life. I want to enjoy every moment without regrets.” Lee Sora, who has put in significant effort to lose weight recently, vowed, “I’ll do the same, unnie.”
