Netflix announced on the 22nd, “The new original movie ‘Husbands’ (directed by Park Kyu-tae) is confirmed for release on June 19.” Along with the announcement, a teaser poster and trailer capturing the film’s vibe were unveiled.

‘Husbands’ is a comedy action film about an unpredictable rescue operation where ex-husband Chung-sik (played by Jin Sun-kyu) and current husband Min-seok (played by Gong Myung) unexpectedly join forces to save a wife kidnapped by a criminal organization. The movie stars Jin Sun-kyu and Gong Myung, alongside Kim Ji-seok, Yoon Kyung-ho, Kang Han-na, Lee Da-hee, and Jeon So-min.

While Chung-sik and Min-seok are locked in a tense standoff over family seating at their daughter’s English speech contest, they receive a call that Si-nae (played by Kang Han-na) and their daughter have been kidnapped. This was the plan of Hye-ran (played by Lee Da-hee), the brain of a new drug organization, to retrieve her husband Do-jun (played by Kim Ji-seok), who was arrested by Chung-sik. To make matters worse, the situation spirals out of control as Yong-gang (played by Yoon Kyung-ho), the leader of the Yong-gang gang seeking to reclaim his past glory, and social affairs reporter Ara (played by Jeon So-min) also get involved.

Starting an unwanted joint operation to save their family, Chung-sik and Min-seok bicker constantly but gradually find their rhythm. The chemistry between the ex-husband and current husband is expected to bring plenty of laughs. As the tagline “Chaotic combination, fantastic harmony” suggests, the duo’s performance in desperate moments promises a unique brand of comedy action.

Featuring the unpredictable synergy and playful banter between Jin Sun-kyu and Gong Myung, ‘Husbands’ will be released on Netflix on June 19.
