Actor Gong Seung-yeon appeared on ‘You Quiz on the Block’ and shared the efforts she made to take her acting to the next level.
In the tvN episode of ‘You Quiz on the Block’ aired on the 20th, Gong Seung-yeon shared stories about gaining attention in her 15th year as an actress. She was previously well-known as an SM trainee for 7 years (ranked #1 for visuals at the time) and as the older sister of TWICE’s Jeongyeon.
Gong Seung-yeon had a strong start with dramas like ‘Heard It Through the Grapevine’ and ‘Six Flying Dragons’, as well as the variety show ‘We Got Married’, but the number of projects she worked on gradually decreased. She even ran out of money and had to move back into her parents’ house. Reflecting on this, she said, “It must be because my acting wasn’t good enough. If I had been good, I would have continued to do well, but I think I wasn’t great back then,” noting that she returned to her roots.
For a smoking scene in the movie ‘People Who Live Alone’, Gong Seung-yeon revealed that she tried every type of cigarette. She calmly shared her dedication, saying, “When I have a character, I write 2 to 3 pages of backstory and study it with the directors. For ‘The First Responders’, I even bought emergency medical services books to study.”
