Park Myung-soo, Kim Dae-ho, Choi Daniel, and Lee Mu-jin of ‘Great Guide 3’ are bursting with anticipation for their brand-new travel destination!
Ahead of its premiere on Tuesday, June 9 at 8:30 PM, MBC Every1’s ‘Great Guide 3’ released a pre-reveal video. The clip captures the four members attempting to deduce their destination using only clues, unaware that they are heading to Ethiopia, while showcasing their excitement for a “real Africa trip.”
The youngest member, Lee Mu-jin, was the first to spot the hint. While carefully examining the maps and materials in the meeting room, he surprised everyone by immediately catching the production team’s intent, noting that “the mountain markings for Ethiopia are exceptionally bold.” He showed his ambitious side, saying, “I’ve been through every kind of hardship possible in previous seasons, so now I actually want to challenge a bigger world. I feel like I’m leveling up through these travels.”
Choi Daniel caught attention by sharing his recent efforts to manage his physical fitness for the trip. Meeting the crew while running, he confessed, “My muscles have weakened after having two knee surgeries. I can definitely feel the difference in stamina as I get older.” He added that he started exercising because he always ended up following Park Myung-soo more slowly during tough schedules. When the production team described this season as the “Africa Advanced Class,” he sparked laughter by saying, “The grueling moments remain like ‘travel pains.’ I’m excited to see what kind of memories we’ll make this time.”
The eldest, Park Myung-soo, showed his special affection for the program by treating the production staff to a dinner. Having experienced a trip to Rwanda in a previous season, he expressed confidence, stating, “I have no fear of Africa. There’s no need to go to ordinary destinations. It’s only a real trip if it’s somewhere special.” He remained unfazed and relaxed even after the staff warned him about the “spicy” nature of the journey.
On the other hand, Kim Dae-ho was the only member who was told in advance that the destination is Ethiopia. He couldn’t hide his excitement, revealing, “I saw news that a volcano erupted last year. It’s been my dream to see red magma up close.” However, when he was told that reaching the active volcano would require a difficult journey, he sent the set into fits of laughter by remarking, “Park Myung-soo hyung is really going to struggle!”
Meanwhile, ‘Great Guide’ is a reality program where members travel according to itineraries planned by guides from countries that are typically difficult to visit. All eyes are now on how the four members, who have honed their survival skills and teamwork through various variables, will navigate their journey through Ethiopia.
