A heartbreaking story is shared about a wife struggling with the triple burden of raising five children, losing her financial independence, and facing her husband’s indifference.
Today’s (12th) episode of tvN STORY’s ‘Lee Ho-sun Counseling Center’ kicks off with a sharp lecture by Professor Lee Ho-sun on “relationship addiction” that can ruin romance and connections. She warns against the dangers of “fake love,” where one disappears into the other person, and emphasizes the importance of finding a healthy sense of self through three types of relationship addiction: the “I’ll die if we break up” type, the “I live by helping” type, and the “I can’t live without love” type.
In the main counseling session, a story is revealed about a wife raising five children, including eight-month-old twins. Despite being a high earner with a monthly income exceeding 10 million won, the husband refuses to share their financial situation. When conflicts arise over living expenses, he coldly tells her, “Earn it yourself.” The studio is left in shock when the wife reveals she manages the food expenses for five children with only 800,000 won.
After the wife confesses that she feels like a “servant,” Professor Lee Ho-sun expresses her frustration and sadness, asking, “Why do you live like this?” Especially touched by the reality that the wife has to walk on eggshells even to drink a cup of coffee, Professor Lee advises the husband on the wife’s true value and provides an “extreme prescription” to resolve the issue of “money” acting as a power dynamic between the couple.
The next session focuses on a “weekend couple” living apart due to work. While the husband believes he is carrying all the responsibility alone in a distant city for his family, the wife feels the loneliness of a “single-parent household” while exhausted from solo parenting. With a wife who finds the role of a mother unfamiliar as she grew up without parental care, and a husband on the verge of exploding from the weight of being the breadwinner, viewers are left curious about the clear solution Professor Lee Ho-sun proposes for their broken communication.
Episode 17 of ‘Lee Ho-sun Counseling Center’ airs today (12th), Tuesday at 8 PM.
