Interest in Kyungsoo from Season 31 of ‘I Am Solo’ is reaching a boiling point. The cast member, who runs an optical shop, is currently dealing with both YouTuber visits and a wave of “star-rating terror.”
On the 14th, review YouTuber ‘Roshow’ shared a video of their visit to Kyungsoo’s optical shop. Known as a glasses enthusiast, the YouTuber visited after making a reservation for prescription lenses but did not actually meet Kyungsoo. According to the video, Kyungsoo is currently on vacation and will be away from the shop for a while.
The intense reaction online has escalated into severe criticism of his business. In the episode of ‘I Am Solo’ aired on the 13th, Kyungsoo expressed stress over the female contestants’ gossip and then asked Sunja, who was suffering from stomach cramps, to use her ‘Super Date Ticket,’ which sparked outrage among viewers.
Right after the broadcast, dozens of malicious 1-star reviews flooded the shop’s Google review page in a short amount of time. As of 6 PM on the 14th, the shop’s average rating plummeted to 1.2 stars.
Many are expressing concern over the trend of visiting a cast member’s private business to voice criticism. MC Defconn previously warned during the show that visiting a cast member’s store is “crossing the line” and urged viewers to avoid over-immersing themselves in the program.
All eyes are now on whether Kyungsoo can turn the public’s opinion around in the remaining episodes.
