The shoutout appears in “Make Them Cry,” the first track of Drake’s 9th studio album, “Iceman.” The lyrics state, “I’m feeling like BTS ’cause it took the whole career for me to be so discovered,” comparing his own journey to success with that of BTS.
The fact that Drake, who has long held the title of the world’s top rapper, compared his career to BTS speaks volumes about the group’s massive influence in the global music scene.
BTS first met Drake at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards. Back in 2019, j-hope named Drake as a dream collaborator in an interview with Rolling Stone.
