Actor Kim Yerim is showcasing a whole new side of herself as a wounded youth in ‘Azure Spring’.

In the MBN Plus new drama ‘Azure Spring’, which premiered on the 11th, Kim Yerim plays Seo Anna, a protagonist who returns to her hometown after being forced to quit her lifelong athlete career due to a sudden injury. She naturally portrays the raw side of youth.

Making a successful acting transition, she creates a bickering chemistry from the start with Deok-hyeon (played by Kang Sang-jun), who becomes a tenant in her home.

While recalling the time she had to give up her dreams, Anna makes a bold decision and tells Deok-hyeon, “Teach me how to dive,” capturing the attention of viewers as she takes a step forward from her frozen time.

Kim Yerim adds depth to the story with her improved emotional acting.

Specifically, in flashback scenes where she is distanced from her prospects as a swimming star due to her injury, she portrays a youth whose dreams have crumbled, appearing with a short haircut and a bare face while sobbing.

Fitting her nickname in the show, ‘The Little Mermaid of Parang-ri’, she also fills the drama with lovely energy through her brave and cute charm.

Most notably, Kim Yerim’s transformation is a complete 180-degree turn from the glamorous and intense charisma she showed in her previous work, ‘Cheongdam International High School’.

From her near-no-makeup look to her clean narration that enhances the mood of the show, Kim Yerim has made a fresh impression by becoming Seo Anna herself.
