On May 16, the fan meeting titled “STILL HERE” took place in Hangzhou, China.
Co-hosted by K-LIGHT Xiaodeng, this event was designed to give back to the Chinese fans who have supported him for so long through a warm, offline gathering filled with memories and connection.
Jung Il-woo shot to fame immediately after his 2006 debut in the hit MBC sitcom “Unstoppable High Kick”. Since then, he has built a massive Asian fanbase through various works, including MBC’s “Moon Embracing the Sun”, KBS 2TV’s “Please Look After Miss Kim”, tvN’s “Cinderella with Four Knights”, and MBN’s “Bossam: Steal a Destiny”.
The “STILL HERE” fan meeting in Hangzhou served as both a celebration of his 20th anniversary and a meaningful reunion with his Chinese fans. The event featured a retrospective interview, interactive games, a fan Q&A, stage performances, and special fan service. Jung Il-woo reportedly shared the journey of his growth over the past 20 years as an actor and expressed his deep gratitude for the long-term support of local fans.
The venue was buzzing with the passion of local fans! Jung Il-woo communicated with them in a friendly and natural manner, responding to their love multiple times. For many fans, this was more than just a meeting with an artist; it was a special moment to celebrate youth, companionship, and reunion. Jung Il-woo shared his feelings, saying, “Thank you for always being with me. I am still here.”
Meanwhile, two days before the Hangzhou event, Jung Il-woo was invited to the International Economic Trade and Cultural Exchange Forum in Shanghai. During the forum, he was honored as the “Asia-Pacific Economic Trade Cultural Exchange Ambassador” by Antonio Basilio, the Global Secretary General of the APEC Business Advisory Council and Chairman of the APEA Advisory Committee. This honor recognizes his positive influence as a representative actor of Asia in promoting the understanding of Asian culture, facilitating cultural exchange between nations, and connecting audiences across different regions.
From the Shanghai forum to the Hangzhou fan meeting, Jung Il-woo has strengthened his connections with Chinese fans, Asian cultural cooperation partners, and international exchange platforms as an actor, cultural spreader, and public figure of Asian pop culture. Local officials praised the event, stating it was “a warm expansion that goes beyond a simple meeting between an artist and fans, leading to Asian culture, youth exchange, and cooperation between countries.”
To celebrate his 20th anniversary, Jung Il-woo plans to continue meeting fans in various cities across Asia, starting with this Hangzhou fan meeting.
