Singer Kang Su-ji revealed that her blood test results changed after she was unable to exercise for two months.
On May 25, a video was uploaded to her YouTube channel, ‘Kang Su-ji TV Living, Loving, Learning,’ where she shared stories about her daily life.
In the video, Kang Su-ji mentioned her recent blood test, saying, “You’ll be surprised. I was surprised, and my husband was too.”

Kang Su-ji shared, “I had been running for 200 days, so I got a blood test.” She explained, “I don’t have diabetes, but my HbA1c level was usually 5.34, which is normal.”
She further explained, “Diabetes is determined by HbA1c and fasting blood glucose, which are measured after fasting for over 12 hours.” She added, “If HbA1c reaches around 6.5, it’s considered diabetes and medication is recommended. If the level exceeds 6, you’re told to exercise and cut back on sweets.”
She continued, “Usually, it was around 5.4. But after running hard every day, my HbA1c dropped to 4.8.”
“I had never seen a result of 4.8 in my entire life. When I told my husband, he was surprised and asked, ‘Really?’ Running every day and building muscle helped so much. I was truly shocked,” she said.

However, Kang Su-ji confessed that her blood test results changed after she had to stop running due to disc stenosis (spinal stenosis).
She shared, “I couldn’t run for two months, and when I had a blood test for another hospital visit, it came out to 5.8.”
“This is a result of how I lived and my eating habits over the past three months,” she explained. “Since I couldn’t even walk for over two months, it became 5.8. It made me realize that brisk walking and running have a huge impact on HbA1c and diabetes.”
She emphasized, “Just as some say walking for 10 to 20 minutes after a meal helps prevent blood sugar from spiking, the most important thing is to exercise consistently every day.”
