Model Yeo Yeon-hee has honestly opened up about why she couldn’t fully focus during her appearance on ‘Korea’s Next Top Model 3’.
In a video posted on her personal channel ‘Yeo Yeon-heeing’ on the 14th, Yeo Yeon-hee shared behind-the-scenes stories from her time on OnStyle’s ‘Korea’s Next Top Model 3’. Currently appearing on tvN’s ‘Kill It: Style Creator Great War’, she mentioned that experiencing another survival program naturally brought back memories of the past.
“I’ve never told this story on any broadcast before,” she began cautiously. Recalling her third-place finish in ‘Korea’s Next Top Model 3’, she explained, “There was a break of about three months before the final filming. The system was to have some time to reorganize before starting filming again.”
She then confessed, “I was 21 at the time and had never dated before, but I got my first boyfriend during that period. I was truly head over heels in love.”
She even shared a conversation she had with her boyfriend back then. Yeo Yeon-hee recalled, “My boyfriend cried, saying, ‘What if you take first place and go to America?’ In my young heart, I even thought, ‘Maybe I shouldn’t do too well.'”
Ultimately, Yeo Yeon-hee admitted she was consumed by her feelings for her boyfriend rather than focusing on the program. “It was packaged nicely on the broadcast during the missions, but I actually didn’t work very hard,” she said. “The PD scolded me a lot, saying, ‘You’re not working hard because you’ve fallen for a guy.'”
She added, “On the show, it was framed as if it was because I was short or lacked stamina, but the truth is I was just too deep in love. I didn’t say anything because I was afraid I’d look like a ‘nam-mi-sae’ (someone obsessed with men), but I really was one back then.”
Yeo Yeon-hee added, “At that age, a once-in-a-lifetime love felt more important than my career. I wasn’t in a state of mind to think about work or anything else.” She expressed regret, saying, “If I could go back now, I think I would have worked much harder.”
She revealed that the passionate romance didn’t last long. “I was so in love, but in the end, we broke up after dating for only three to four months,” she said, jokingly hitting the sofa in frustration, which sparked laughter.
