Entertainer Kim Dae-ho recently opened up about his ideal type, admitting that he hasn’t been in a relationship for 10 years.

On the May 11 episode of KBS2TV’s ‘Malja Show’, Kim Dae-ho joined “Malja Halmae” Kim Young-hee to share his concerns.

During the show, Kim Dae-ho introduced himself as “the second son of KBS who left home from MBC.” Kim Young-hee apologized, revealing she had been calling him “oppa” in the waiting room thinking he was older, only to find out he is actually three years younger than her.

Talking about his transition to freelance work, he shared, “Many things have changed, but first of all, it’s become easier to make a living. I left a place where I had to do what I was told for about 10 years, and now I’m living my life focusing on the things I actually want to do. That’s the biggest change.”

“Why the second son?” When asked this, he named Lee Chan-won as the first. As for Jun Hyun-moo, he explained, “Jun Hyun-moo is more like a prodigal son who left and then returned, but I am truly the second son.” He added that Lee Chan-won has a huge fan base and a firmly established position as a host, noting, “I don’t like fighting, so staying as the second son is safer.”

Comparing himself to Jun Hyun-moo, he said, “First of all, I’m younger. While Jun Hyun-moo is a powerhouse host, he can seem like a playful, slightly immature son. My strength is my friendliness, like a diligent son or grandson from next door, or a friendly uncle. I think we’re just heading in different directions.”

When the topic shifted to his ideal type, Kim Dae-ho explained, “Appearance is important, but I view a girlfriend as my ‘number 0 friend.’ I like a woman who is like a friend—someone with her own firm hobbies, who doesn’t cling to me, but someone I can rely on while we both work hard at our own lives.” He further added that, visually, he prefers someone with a “glamorous” look.

Kim Dae-ho revealed it has been 10 years since his last relationship, adding, “People around me have set me up on blind dates, but I tend to prefer natural encounters over arranged ones.”

The episode also touched upon the struggle of dealing with parents’ nagging. Kim Dae-ho admitted he’s been hearing a lot about marriage at home lately. This led to a hilarious surprise phone call between Malja Halmae and Kim Dae-ho’s mother. Malja Halmae asked the mother how she’d feel about a daughter-in-law with dyed hair, a deep tan, and a crop top asking, “Mother, what should I fry?” to which his mother bluntly replied, “Then my son wouldn’t like her either,” leaving everyone in stitches.
