Actress Lee Yu-bi, who was once “bone-skinny” at just 42kg, got honest about her past extreme dieting experiences and how her perspective on her body has changed.
On the 11th, a video titled “Stopping daily life for a bit, in Bali. All-inclusive resort vlog” was uploaded to Lee Yu-bi’s YouTube channel.
While enjoying hotel breakfast during her Bali trip, Lee Yu-bi took some time to answer questions from her fans. She shared, “I don’t want to go back to my 20s,” adding, “I actually want to become 40 or 50 sooner. I feel like my mind becomes more stable as time goes by.”

She also spoke candidly about her secrets for managing swelling, one of the most frequently asked questions. Lee Yu-bi confessed, “The reason I check for swelling every day is that it became a habit since my 20s. Back then, just having my face appear on screen was so stressful.”
Specifically, Lee Yu-bi revealed her experience with extreme weight management. She said, “At the time, I weighed about 42kg, but I was told to lose weight because my face looked round on screen.”
She recalled, “The next day during filming, there was a scene where my arms were visible, and a staff member who saw it told me they were sorry. They told me absolutely not to lose any more weight.”

Regarding the current “bone-skinny” trend, Lee Yu-bi remarked, “These days, it seems like everyone is pursuing that ‘bone-skinny’ look. My past body might actually fit the current trend better, but personally, I don’t really like it.”
She offered heartfelt advice, saying, “Feeling slightly plump like I do now looks much healthier and prettier. Health is everything. If your body breaks down while trying to lose weight, it’s hard to reverse. You become happier when you let go a little, and when you’re happy, you look even prettier. I hope people don’t obsess too much over dieting.”
