Actor Lee Yun-ji has shared her excitement about joining the cast of the play ‘Beginning’!
A press conference for ‘Beginning’ was held on the afternoon of the 15th at LG Arts Center Seoul. Director Pyo Sang-ah and actors Lee Jong-hyuk, Yoo Sun, Lee Chun-hee, and Lee Yun-ji were all in attendance.
‘Beginning’ is a two-person play that captures the conversations between Danny and Laura, two people who are complete opposites in every way.
The role of Laura, a successful career woman who lives with deep loneliness, is played by Yoo Sun and Lee Yun-ji. Meanwhile, the role of Danny, who hesitates to start a new relationship after a divorce, is played by Lee Jong-hyuk and Lee Chun-hee.

During the event, Lee Yun-ji joked, “I actually saw the script for ‘Beginning’ during its premiere last year. I found the British humor so funny that I was hoping for a chance to join, but it didn’t happen then.” She added with a smile, “I really waited for my moment to participate this time.”
She also mentioned her long-standing connection with Director Pyo Sang-ah, saying, “I have a long history with Director Pyo Sang-ah. We worked together on a play called ‘Closer’ back when the director was an assistant director. It’s great to reconnect after all this time. For us, it was a ‘New Beginning’ as well.”
Lee Yun-ji also expressed her happiness about sharing a role with Yoo Sun, noting, “I was so glad to work on the same role as Yoo Sun. This is a characteristic structure of theater that you don’t experience in other media. I was truly happy working on this.”
‘Beginning’ will be performed starting from the 15th at the LG Arts Center Seoul U+ Stage.
