Nayul Opens Up About Deep Resentment Toward Father Who Disappeared 30 Years Ago

Singer Nayul has revealed the painful reason behind her resentment toward her father.

On the May 14 broadcast of MBN’s ‘Special World’, Nayul’s hidden family history was brought to light.

Nayul shared her journey, saying, “Even after numerous auditions, things didn’t work out. I wondered how I could make my name known, so I started traveling to music festivals across the country.” She also updated fans on her recent achievement of placing 12th in ‘Miss Trot 3’.

After returning from an event, Nayul’s mother cautiously brought up the topic of her father. Nayul responded coldly, asking, “He ran away and abandoned the two of us, so how could I not hate him?”

Her mother encouraged her to meet him, stating, “Still, the bond between a parent and child is sacred. While the bond between your father and me ended, he is still your father.”

However, Nayul drew a firm line, saying, “We’re talking about meeting after roughly 30 years, so what affection could possibly be left? I wish you wouldn’t ask.” She added, “I don’t know why you’re forcing me to meet him now. I’d prefer it if you didn’t bring it up.”

Nayul’s mother explained the circumstances, saying, “My husband had a large business, but he ended up in insurmountable debt due to the IMF crisis. That’s why we got divorced.” She described how contact was lost around the time Nayul was a year old.

Nayul confessed, “I first realized I didn’t have a father when I was in first grade. Until then, my mom told me he was away on a business trip.” She added, “After my mother, grandmother, and I appeared on TV, my father asked to see me just once. Hearing that only made me feel more anger.”

She further shared her heartache, saying, “I wondered why I was the only one with a family like this and why I had to endure it all while others had normal families. I felt like I was being punished for my whole life.”
