NMIXX is back with a new release overflowing with love!
On May 11 at 6 PM, NMIXX dropped their 5th mini album ‘Heavy Serenade’ across various music platforms. The new track entered the Melon TOP 100 at 60th place by 7 PM that same day. By midnight on the 12th, it soared to 16th place, jumping over 40 spots in just five hours!
To celebrate the comeback, the group held a countdown live on their official YouTube channel starting at 4:40 PM on release day. Describing the 5th mini album as “an album full of songs and colors that perfectly suit the season,” the members shared listening points and behind-the-scenes stories through an album unboxing and a preview of all the tracks.
BAE, who participated in writing the lyrics for ‘Different Girl,’ shared, “I expressed my feelings for NSWER, who helped me love even my flaws, by saying they light up my darkness like the universe.” Meanwhile, LILY, who wrote the lyrics for ‘LOUD’ solo, teased the song’s vibe, saying she was inspired by love stories from books and movies, such as ‘Romeo and Juliet.’
The members also read messages from NSWER via the promotion website. They were deeply moved by comments like “Every voice of NMIXX is a serenade. I want to listen to that serenade for a long, long time,” “I hope NMIXX’s serenade echoes throughout the world,” and “Thank you for letting me know what love is and making me a happy person.” The members responded emotionally, “We prepared this album with the thought of sending a serenade to NSWER, but it feels like NSWER sent a serenade back to us.”
The warmth continued with a segment where the six members read letters of gratitude. LILY wrote to her younger sister, KYUJIN to herself ahead of her birthday, and SULLYOON to her friends, while JIWOO, HAEWON, and BAE expressed their thanks to those who are always by their side.
Wrapping up the countdown live, NMIXX shared, “We prepared this with all our heart because of the high expectations for this album. To return the immense love we received during our ‘Blue Valentine’ promotions, we filled this one with love itself. We hope you listen to and sing along to ‘Heavy Serenade’ a lot. The 5th mini album ‘Heavy Serenade’ features a total of six tracks, including the title song of the same name, ‘Crescendo,’ ‘IDESERVEIT,’ ‘Different Girl,’ ‘Superior,’ and ‘LOUD.’ The title track ‘Heavy Serenade,’ with lyrics written by singer-songwriter Hanroro, tells a story of deep, confident love, elevated by the members’ emotive vocals.
The album, which has been praised for having “six masterpiece tracks,” hit the top of the Circle Chart real-time retail album chart at 6 PM on the 11th and the Hanteo Chart real-time album chart at 7 PM. It also reached #1 on the iTunes Top Album Charts in several regions, including Hong Kong, Thailand, and Vietnam.
