Nam Neung-mi has been enjoying country life on a 150-pyeong plot in a scenic mountain area of Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. Kim Young-ok and Nam Neung-mi greeted each other warmly, with Kim Young-ok mentioning, “It’s so good to be here after a long time.”
During the visit, Kim Young-ok brought up the fact that Nam Neung-mi’s husband had been a victim of a scam in the past. Nam Neung-mi revealed, “He lost 8 billion won,” and Kim Young-ok expressed her sympathy, noting that it was a massive amount of money at the time. Kim Young-ok added, “He came to this house after losing a huge sum, but I think his character is what saved him. It’s so admirable how he let it go and adapted to survive. Was it someone close to him who did it?”
Nam Neung-mi replied, “He was scammed by a fraudster. Because of that, the children hated their father for a while.” She then shared a surprising detail, saying, “But I called the children and told them, ‘Your father is more important than you.'” Kim Young-ok honestly admitted, “If it were me, I would have hated him too.” To this, Nam Neung-mi showed a positive mindset, saying, “I think it’s healthy that we changed our perspective.”
She continued, “We earned enough to live on for the rest of our lives. There’s no end to greed. Every time my husband eats, he teaches me, ‘We are the happiest’ and ‘We are the richest.’ He prevents me from having negative thoughts.” Kim Young-ok admired this, saying, “Thinking that way is happiness itself” and “Being satisfied with what you have is the best.”
