North Korean defector Lee Soon-sil showcased her life as a successful dumpling CEO on ‘Boss in the Mirror’.
In the KBS 2TV variety show ‘Boss in the Mirror’ (사장님 귀는 당나귀 귀) aired on the 24th, Lee Soon-sil shared a glimpse into her daily routine as a boss.
Lee made a grand entrance in an expensive foreign mid-size sedan. From handing over her luxury bag to having a director close the car door for her, she fully embraced the high-class CEO lifestyle.
Her happiness is soaring right along with her dumpling sales! Lee shared, “I feel so great lately. I smile even in my sleep and only dream about dumplings.” She left everyone stunned by revealing, “Sales were 4 billion won the year before last and rose to 7 billion won last year. My goal for this year is 10 billion won in annual sales.”

Lee even personally visited her dumpling factory for an inspection. She strictly monitored everything from the manufacturing to the packaging of her frozen dumplings, which ship an average of 24 tons per month. She explained, “While I trust my employees, the owner must oversee and manage the process to identify areas for improvement and provide encouragement.”
However, the employees had a different story, lamenting, “I can’t go home. I want to go home. She just pushes us to hit the targets, and it’s an enormous burden.” Lee continued to put pressure on her staff, warning, “If you shape them wrong, I’ll cut your salary.” She also demanded daily sensory evaluations and forced them to taste the frozen dumplings, ramping up the tension by declaring, “If you don’t eat it, fire everyone, regardless of whether they’re a supervisor or not.”
