Actor Park Ji-hoon opened up about how he’s feeling after becoming a “10-million actor” thanks to the movie ‘The Man Living with the King’ (directed by Jang Hang-jun).
During the production presentation for the TVING original ‘Becoming a Legendary Cook Soldier’ (written by Choi Ryong, directed by Jo Nam-hyung) held on the afternoon of May 6 at the Pullman Ambassador Seoul Eastpole in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, Park Ji-hoon was asked if he felt any pressure regarding his next projects following the success of ‘The Man Living with the King’. He confidently replied, “I’m not the type to feel pressure.”
He explained, “Instead, I focused on what I could express within the work and how I could share energy with my seniors. I think I was a bit nervous rather than feeling pressured.”
When asked about his mindset filming a military drama before completing his mandatory service, he shared, “I believe Director Jo Nam-hyung cast me because he specifically wanted someone who hasn’t served yet. I think he envisioned the awkwardness of a new recruit wondering, ‘What should I do here? Should I just stay still?'” He added, “I’m a military enthusiast, so I have some knowledge of military life, but there were many things I experienced for the first time while filming. It gave me a real sense of what life will be like once I enlist.”
‘Becoming a Legendary Cook Soldier’ is a military cooking fantasy drama that follows Private Kang Seong-jae (Park Ji-hoon), who swaps a gun for a kitchen knife and a gear belt for an apron, as he grows into a “legendary cook soldier.” The series is set to premiere on May 11 at 8:50 PM on TVING and tvN.
