Singer and actor Park Jihoon recently opened up about the struggles he has faced with dieting.

On May 15, a video titled “Your Majesty in My Heart” was released on the YouTube channel “No Prepare.”

Park Jihoon appeared as the 43rd guest on “No Prepare,” following his massive popularity in the movie “The Man Living with the King.”

During the episode, Lee Youngji asked him if he has “rubber-band weight” (weight that fluctuates easily). Park Jihoon agreed, noting that he loses weight quickly when he doesn’t eat but gains it back just as fast. He mentioned that he is currently in the process of losing weight.

Park Jihoon admitted, “I love eating. I have a very strong appetite.” He mentioned obesity treatments like Wegovy and Mounjaro, confessing, “I thought about them a lot because I had to lose weight so quickly, but I was too scared to actually try them.” Lee Youngji empathized, admitting she would also be scared.

Lee Youngji asked if he feels he is succeeding in both his singing and acting careers. Park Jihoon responded humbly, “No. I don’t think my personality is like that. I don’t like the version of myself that might become arrogant.” He shared his deeper worries about authenticity, saying, “I feel like I’m showing a fabricated version of myself during interviews. Who am I really? What kind of actor do I want to be? I’m thinking about this a lot, but I haven’t found the answer yet.”

When Lee Youngji suggested that worrying about losing one’s purity is actually a sign of growth, Park Jihoon explained, “In the past, my decisions were clear. But these days, I find myself calculating, thinking, ‘If I do this, will people like it?’ I feel like I’m losing my identity.” Lee Youngji offered heartfelt advice, noting the natural gap between the 17-year-old and 28-year-old Park Jihoon. She encouraged him by saying that fans will understand his growth and that considering what fans enjoy is, in itself, a pure act.
