On the upcoming episode of MBN’s ‘Kim Ju-ha’s Day & Night’ airing on the 16th, Pyeon Seung-yeop, who recently gained attention for appearing on ‘Unknown Legend’, will share stories about his debut and the creation of his hit song.
Recalling his days dreaming of becoming a traditional trot singer, Pyeon Seung-yeop visited composer Lee Ho-seop. He remembers feeling that ‘Chan Chan Chan’ was meant for him the moment he heard it played on the piano. However, he sparked curiosity by revealing that the song originally belonged to someone else.
It will also be revealed that his special bond with composer Lee Ho-seop, which started during his days as an unknown artist, eventually led to ‘Chan Chan Chan’. Pyeon Seung-yeop expressed deep emotion, noting that the truth has finally come to light after 34 years.
Looking back at the immense love ‘Chan Chan Chan’ received, Pyeon Seung-yeop shocked everyone by confessing, “By today’s standards, my daily income was over 100 million won.” He shared that while there wasn’t much of a reaction immediately after its 1992 release, it exploded in popularity about a year later, sweeping the trot charts. He honestly admitted, “Since I made money so easily, I thought it was normal.”
The production team praised him, saying, “Pyeon Seung-yeop is someone who shines brightest on stage,” and asked fans to look forward to his honest stories and wit.
