Interest in Mnet’s ‘Girls Planet 2’ (working title) is reaching new heights!
Scheduled to air in 2027, ‘Girls Planet 2’ is the latest project in the Planet series, which previously gave us Kep1er, ZEROBASEONE, and ALPHA DRIVE ONE. The project officially kicked off its recruitment process on the 1st.
The response has been incredible. In just about ten days, the number of applicants for ‘Girls Planet 2’ has already exceeded the cumulative total from the seven-month global recruitment period of ‘Boys 2 Planet’. Notably, applicants from North and Latin America make up about 30% of the total. Around 130 domestic agencies have also expressed strong interest in participating.
With the global craze for K-POP continuing to grow, the energy on the ground has been electric. During the on-site auditions at ‘KCON JAPAN 2026’ from May 8 to 10, so many applicants showed up that the judging area had to be expanded. A special audition is also slated for ‘KCON LA 2026’ this August, leaving fans eager to see what kind of talented applicants will emerge.
